Mind the Bird Media hatched in 2015 from the mind of me, Heather Brown. I’m a seasoned teacher and natural networker, skilled in outreach, organization, and projects that exist at the intersection of daily details and big-picture strategies. I am driven by my belief in the far-reaching impact of single, communicative acts.

In my former life as a high school English teacher, I turned classrooms into communities. In 2013 I received an MFA in poetry from Oregon State University. Since then, I have poured my passion for connection into building engagement across creative and corporate spaces. For the past several years I’ve worked with authors, publishers, nonprofits, and small businesses on a wide range of projects, from publicity, to event production, to operations and systems development.

I listen to stories and work closely with clients to develop customized outreach strategy, collaborative workflows, and actionable data management practices.
